Our Superb Half Brick Porch Design Options

A half brick porch design is the winning combination of the timeless beauty of timber and the unbeatable durability of brick. Half brick porches, also known as high brick plinth porches, offer attractive design and practical functionality in spades.

We are proud of our versatility of design, believing every customer should be able to get a porch that works for them. Whether you want a modern style to enhance the front door of a contemporary home or are searching for a traditional style of porch to fit a heritage-style property, we can accommodate this.

How Can I Customise My Half Brick Porch?

Our half brick porches will be attached via an oak soleplate to a plinth that is usually made of brick. As this style of porch is typically larger than other styles, there is an option to insert a bench or small log store on your internal wall.

As well as this, you can customise the following:

  • Frame material

The timber part of your porch frame can be green oak or Douglas-fir, both high-quality timbers that have beautiful finishes.

  • Size

You can calculate how many square metres your half brick porch will be, with post size, post height, porch height, porch width and porch depth all customisable, too.

  • Roof pitch

Decide the angle and pitch of your roof in degrees.

  • Front eaves beam

This can be straight or curved.

  • Front truss

There are four different design options for your front truss, each with its own unique appeal.

  • Front beam ends

Decide if you want your front beam ends to be straight, concave, or convex.

  • Mullions

Add mullions to the sides of your porch for extra protection and design flair.

Will You Supply Bricks for the Base of my Building?

We are able to supply you with a 140mm brick, the same size as the base plate we also supply. This means you won’t need to use two skins of bricks. Ask our team for more information on this option.

Superior Quality and Easy Assembly:
Why We’re the Best Choice

Our carpenters craft each kit with passion and expertise backed up by decades of experience. Each kit goes through a quality assurance process that ensures the finished product is up to industry standards. That’s why every one of our products is Q-Marked by BM TRADA.

Timber is an exceptionally durable and weatherproof material and is more cost effective than other materials like UPVC porches or metal porches. It makes for a beautiful porch material that pairs wonderfully with brick.

We assure quality with the following manufacturing processes:

  • Rigorous timber grading completed by experts
  • High-tech machinery famed for precision cuts
  • Traditional joining techniques that ensure each beam slots together seamlessly, making home assembly easy
  • Industry recognised quality

How Much Does a Half Brick Porch Cost?

The total cost for each porch depends on the customisation options chosen and whether it’s a large porch or a small porch. We promise to always be upfront about all costs involved and will provide you with a written quote of what you can expect to pay.

Our payment terms are simple and come with no hidden charges. When you place your order, we take 20% of the order value with the remaining 80% due 7 days prior to the frame’s delivery or collection. We accept bank transfers and VISA, Mastercard and Delta debit or credit cards.

Will I Need Planning Permission For My Half Brick Porch?

Whether you need planning permission depends on the type of porch you want to build. If your porch is built at the ground level of your existing house and has a floor area of less than 3 square metres, it will not usually need Building Regulation Approval. There are some caveats to this which are dependent on different circumstances: read a full guide on planning permission for porches.
