Our Garden Rooms by Material Types
Types of Garden Room Available
All of our oak garden room kits are custom-made, meaning they can be crafted to meet planning requirements, any existing architectural styles or features, and property dimensions as needed. However, we offer a series of design options your clients can choose to start from if they don’t already have one in mind:
- Garden Room 1: A compact option featuring French doors and sidewalls with low brick walls and high glazing.
- Garden Room 2: A full hipped roof design featuring two sets of side doors and glazing on all other sides.
- Garden Room 3: A garden room featuring a gable-end roof finished with weatherboarding.
- Garden Room 4: A medium-sized structure combining two sets of double doors and attractive glazing set on top of a dwarf wall.
- Garden Room 5: A hipped roof garden room with a single set of glass doors, featuring glazing resting on a low cavity brick wall.
- Garden Room 6: A garden room featuring access from all sides; all three elevations feature French doors.
- Garden Room 7: A large garden room offering the flexibility to lower the roof area with a flat or pitched-to-flat design.
- Garden Room 8: A long but narrow garden room design, ideal for properties with compact outside spaces.
- Garden Room 9: A garden room configured to sit easily in a corner, accessed conveniently from two angles.
- Garden Room 10: A large garden room featuring a lean-to roof and doors which can be substituted for fixed units.
Our Materials for Garden Room Kits
Oak
For high-end residential projects and parts of kits where visible oak framing is the design priority. Each frame is cut to exact dimensions, pre-jointed for fast installation, and engineered for long-term durability.
Douglas-Fir
A cost-efficient, strong, and versatile alternative to oak. Douglas-fir provides structural reliability and is ideal when the frame will be partially or fully concealed.
All kits include:
- Pre-cut, precision-engineered frames
- Fixings and connectors
- Clear labelling for ease of installation
- Insulated panels as standard
- Optional bespoke glazing and joinery
What We Offer to Garden Room Projects
Quote Certainty
Everything, including structural loads, site orientation, and wind exposure, is calculated to Eurocode standards and priced in full, upfront. Unlike many suppliers, we don’t add late “structural uplift” costs.
Install Speed
Our frames are crafted using traditional mortise-and-tenon jointing, precision-machined for accuracy. Components slot together cleanly, reducing rework and saving time on site.
Quality and Compliance
All timber is professionally graded in-house and manufactured to Q-Mark standards. Our process is audited annually, so your reputation stays protected.
Design to Delivery Pipeline
We have a standard turnaround of:
- 1–2 weeks for drawings
- ~6 weeks for manufacture
- Target completion 1 week before dispatch
Lead times may vary by project complexity, but we’ll offer transparency at every stage.
Trade Support
We have planning drawings available at low cost from our in-house team, feasibility guidance on request, and spec documentation you can pass on to clients.
Specifications and Bespoke Options
Timber: We only ever use sustainably sourced green oak and Douglas-fir from a long-established, responsibly managed site in France. All trees there are grown tall and straight for maximum yield and consistency.
Moisture Control: All timber is dried below 22% moisture content to prevent decay and ensure long service life.
Insulation: This is fitted as standard for garden rooms, ensuring year-round usability.
Glazing and Joinery: We offer tailored doors and windows as an option to meet light, ventilation, and security requirements.
Design Configurations: All of these are adapted to your client’s site, orientation, and planning permissions. Complex shapes and extensive glazing are supported.
Delivery Logistics
We provide UK-wide delivery designed around trade site requirements. Every kit is:
- Carefully packaged and clearly labelled so components can be staged quickly on arrival.
- Supplied with frames, connectors, and installation instructions, so nothing is missing when your team begins assembly.
- Delivered using vehicles suited to access constraints. If we cannot reach the build site directly, we will offload at the nearest safe and designated drop-off point, ensuring your materials are close at hand without risk to access routes or equipment.
We confirm access requirements at the order stage to avoid delays on the day.
Site Pickup and Collection
If you’d rather control transport, you can arrange to collect directly from our East Sussex workshop. Our team will:
- Prepare your kit for secure loading.
- Provide a full component checklist to sign off before departure.
- Ensure all packaging is transit-ready, whether for short local runs or longer-distance haulage.
This option gives you flexibility to align collection with your own project timelines or integrate into larger multi-site deliveries.
Our Simple Process
- Initial Brief: You provide us with the dimensions and project goals.
- Design Collaboration: Our in-house team develops detailed drawings of the garden room as your client wants it to look.
- Transparent Quote and Approval: We provide the quote for client approval. There are no hidden costs, and Eurocode structural factors are included.
- Manufacture: Once the work has been approved and the deposit paid, we’ll produce the oak frames with in-house timber grading and state-of-the-art machinery in a moisture-controlled environment.
- Delivery or Pickup: We’ll prepare the kit for delivery or pickup. The kit will arrive complete with fixings and an installation guide.
Simple Maintenance For Your Clients
Once installed, our garden rooms require very little maintenance. The oak frame itself is built to last, though we recommend advising clients to clear gutters regularly and treat any external joinery in the same way they would for windows or doors. This keeps the structure looking its best and performing well for years to come.
Planning requirements can vary depending on the project. Smaller garden rooms may fall under permitted development, while larger or boundary-adjacent builds often need formal approval. But also remind them that a well-designed, fully compliant garden room also enhances the usability and overall value of their property.
