The Demand for Durable Designs

Ensuring the long-lasting durability of your projects is a constant challenge. It involves meticulous attention to detail, especially in choosing the right materials and construction methods. Ideally, both should not just meet but exceed your expectations, in terms of their ability to withstand the weather, their structural integrity, and their longevity.

You can’t compromise on any of these factors without risking damaged properties, costly repairs, and even impacts on your reputation if you’re considering becoming a landlord. This is why you should always demand the best for your projects – the kind of craftsmanship and careful attention that you’ll get with a garage from our team.

Our Natural Material Selection

The foundation of durability in wooden garages lies in choosing the right materials. For us, this always means green oak and Douglas-fir. These woods have long been renowned for their exceptional strength, weather resistance, and insulating properties. They are naturally equipped to withstand the elements, making them superior choices for garages that need to endure over time.

Oak is a particularly popular choice for this because the wood will only strengthen over time as it settles. It shouldn’t crack, twist, or warp in any way that will make it structurally unsound, and typically the only physical change you should expect is the wood darkening in colour.

Our wood materials are all sustainable, having been sourced from one responsibly managed forest site in France. There, it’s grown to be tall, strong, and straight, maximising the amount of hardwearing timber that can be used in our manufacturing and minimising the amount wasted. We also pressure-treat the wood to make it even more resistant against rot and insects.

Committing to Expert Craftsmanship

When the wood is brought to our workshops, it will first be professionally graded and inspected by expert timber graders to determine its suitability for construction. About 90-95% of the timber we use passes this stage and is then sent on for manufacturing.

We utilise state-of-the-art machinery in our manufacturing process, which allows us to achieve precision and consistency that traditional methods can’t match. These machines, operated by skilled craftsmen, ensure every component is crafted to exact specifications. It’s cutting-edge, and not only expedites production but also ensures the highest level of quality.

The precision of this work also keeps all frame cutting completely clean, meaning frames will slot neatly together without gaps or other faults that could allow cold air or moisture into the garage design.

Insulation and Security Options

We also offer a series of extra features designed to increase durability, that also assist comfort, security, and peace of mind. The first of these is our option to include insulation in the walls of a closed garage design. This additional feature not only boosts the longevity of your structure but also makes it more energy-efficient and comfortable year-round.

The inside of your garage needs protection as much as the outside. That’s why our garage doors can be fitted with hardwearing locks and locking mechanisms made from top-quality ironmongery. These security features are designed to withstand the test of time and ensure that the interior of your garage remains safe from intrusion for years to come.
